Terms of Service
Last updated:
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of the Trust Validated website and applications (the "Software"). By installing or using the Software you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Software.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, for personal and family use. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer for the purpose of cloning, or remove attribution from the Software, except where such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
3. Parental responsibility
Our family applications are configuration tools for parents and guardians. You are responsible for setting appropriate thresholds, keeping your parental PIN confidential, and supervising your child's device use. The Software supplements parental supervision; it does not replace it.
4. Not medical advice
SafeDistance encourages healthier viewing distance as a general wellbeing habit. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and does not guarantee prevention of myopia, eye strain, or any other outcome. Consult a qualified optometrist or physician for advice about eye health.
5. Accuracy limits
Distance estimation depends on camera hardware, lighting, viewing angle, and device positioning. Measurements are approximations and alerts may occasionally fire late, early, or not at all. Do not rely on the Software as the sole safeguard for a child's screen habits.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Software to monitor or surveil any person without their knowledge where such monitoring is unlawful, nor to interfere with a device you do not own or control. Use of the Software must comply with the laws that apply to you.
7. Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue features, and we may end support for older platform versions. Where a change materially reduces functionality you rely on, we will note it in the release notes.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trust Validated is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Software. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects statutory consumer rights that apply to you.
10. Intellectual property
The Trust Validated name, logo, application names, and the Software itself remain our property or that of our licensors. These terms grant you no rights in our trademarks.
11. Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the Software. We may suspend the licence if you breach these terms.
